07*14*09 Lots of Ruffles

Ruffle Tank: Target
Gray Cardi: Kohls
Pink Skirt: NY&CO
Brown flats: Aerosoles via DSW
Brown belt: Kohls

I picked up this super comfy skirt at NY&CO's summer clearance sale, but I'm having the same problem with it as with my red pants from yesterday. What else do I wear with it besides neutrals? I've noticed that I really don't have a big variety of neutral tops and if I have the choice while shopping, I will almost always go for color over neutrals. Now that I've realized this, I'm trying to increase my neutral wardrobe options.

I am mixing brown & gray, something I would have NEVER done before I started reading all of the lovely fashion blogs. Now its slowly becoming one of my favorite combinations. I know my pose looks a little off balance, but I liked the way my skirt looked mid-swing.

07*09*09 I'm festive!

Flowery top: AGB via Bergners
Pants: AGB via Bergners
Shoes: Mossimo via Target
Necklace: H&M

This is my "festive" top, as one of my co-workers put it. No idea what that means, but I guess every day at the office is a party....ha ha. These shoes look brown in the picture, but they are actually a dark red. I love the zipper detail! And they were only $6 at Target!

07*07*09 Pink & Red?

Pink polo: Arizona via JcPenney
Khakis: Ann Taylor Loft ($9.88)
Button Necklace: Kohls
Red Wedges: Merona via Target
I'm wearing pink and red together - and I'm not a 6 year old girl on Valentines Day. I kind of like the unexpected combo, but I wonder how many people will think I got dressed in the dark??? And no, I didn't get dressed in the dark - I put a new light bulb in my closet last night :)

06*30*09

Black Tank: Old Navy
Flowered Top: JTB via Gordmans
Cardi: Old Navy
Pants: ???, probably JcPenney
Flats: Apt 9 via Kohls
Necklace: gift from Mom & Dad

This is another top that I've probably worn once or twice. It's low cut and shows quite a bit of back skin, so I had to make it work appropriate with the tank and cardigan. I tried the trick from academichic of using the shirt's tie to belt the cardigan. I found myself readjusting it quite a bit today, but I like the look. Yeah for trying something new :)

Ok, these pants did not look like this when I looked in the mirror! What is with that??? They actually looked and felt more fitted and the length looked good with flats. Now I'm seeing baggy pants that are too narrow and long for flats. I seriously need to re-evaluate my pants selection!

06*24*09 Pretty in Pink

Top: Gap outlet
Skirt: Kohls
Flats: Report via Macy's
Necklace: Casual Corner

I'm really liking the way I look in skirts. Taking pictures has really helped me change the way I see myself & what I wear. For instance, I used to think I looked too dressed up & fussy in skirts, but now I think they look better on me than my usual pants. I'm also realizing that most of my pants do not fit properly. I look completely different in pictures than I see myself in the mirror.

06*19*09 Flowery Friday

Top: Apt 9 via Kohls
Skirt: K-mart
Sandals: Lord & Taylor via ebay
Necklace: vintage - great-grandma's

Love this skirt! I can't believe it came from K-mart. I just had to buy it after seeing Kimberly wear it. And it was a steal at only $12.50! Today I kept it simple with a black top to really make the skirt stand out. Next time I wear it, I will try to mix it up a bit. I bought these shoes for my bridal shower 4 years ago and don't wear them much. They have a skinny heel and I am not that coordinated, but I decided to give them a shot today. I have a back-up pair of wedges in my car just in case :) Have a wonderful weekend!

06*18*2009 Plain in Pink

Top: Worthington via JcPenney
Pants: Axcess via Kohls
Peep Toe Wedges: Aerosoles via DSW
Necklace: etsy

This is a shirt that I don't wear very often because it usually needs ironed. Last night I sprayed some wrinkle releaser on it and let it dry overnight and NO WRINKLES! I love that stuff :) The shirt feels a little baggy, but I was rushed this morning so I didn't try to belt it. I will probably wear a cardigan most of the day in my cold office, so that will give it some shape.

My belts are in a giant heap on our bedroom floor after the closet shelf came crashing down on me last week (yes, I think thats a sign that I have too much stuff!) I need a better way to organize my belts....any suggestions?? I was using one of those ring hangers, but it was so hard to get to a belt in the middle....and that was usually the one I wanted to wear :)

06*11*2009

Top: Worthington via JcPenney

Pants: Mix It via JcPenney

Belt: old, probably Kohls

Wedges: Aerosoles via DSW

Necklace: made by me

I don't wear a lot of button down shirts (because I HATE to iron), but I'm trying to change that. Luckily, this shirt is wrinkle free, which I love. Normally I would wear a black belt with an outfit like this, but I found this white one in my closet that I've only worn a few times. The shirt looks better in person and I always seem to get compliments when I wear it. Today I was told the color looked good on me....and that it was too hot to be wearing long sleeves.

06*10*2009 My "new" scarf

Top: Gap
Scarf: Church Sale
Pants: Dockers via JcPenney
Shoes: Kohl's
Cardi: Old Navy

When I first learned about the new trend of wearing scarves in the summer, I was skeptical. But this scarf is perfect for that. It's lightweight and really freshens up a plain old outfit. AND I only paid 50 cents for it :)
