06*30*09

Black Tank: Old Navy
Flowered Top: JTB via Gordmans
Cardi: Old Navy
Pants: ???, probably JcPenney
Flats: Apt 9 via Kohls
Necklace: gift from Mom & Dad

This is another top that I've probably worn once or twice. It's low cut and shows quite a bit of back skin, so I had to make it work appropriate with the tank and cardigan. I tried the trick from academichic of using the shirt's tie to belt the cardigan. I found myself readjusting it quite a bit today, but I like the look. Yeah for trying something new :)

Ok, these pants did not look like this when I looked in the mirror! What is with that??? They actually looked and felt more fitted and the length looked good with flats. Now I'm seeing baggy pants that are too narrow and long for flats. I seriously need to re-evaluate my pants selection!

06*29*09 Peek-a-boo

Tank: Old Navy
Cardi: Worthington via JcPenney
Pants: Worthington via JcPenney
Wedges: Aerosoles via DSW
Necklace: Macy's clearance

This is one of my favorite cardigans (and I have A LOT of cardigans!) I bought it on clearance about 3 or 4 years ago and get compliments almost every time I wear it. I usually wear it buttoned up so the color of my top just peeks through, but I like this look, too. I bought this necklace a few weeks ago for $4.99. Love it!

06*26*09 Finally Friday

Top: Kohls
Belt: Kohls
Pants: Mix It via JcPenney
Snakeskin wedges (not pictured): DSW

I swapped out the fabric tie on this top for a belt. I don't remember the top bunching as much with the tie as it is with the belt. But I've never had my picture taken with this top on either.

06*25*09 Halfway to Christmas

T-shirt: Steve & Barry's
Vest: Shade
Khakis: Old Navy
Necklace: Kohl's
Shoes: Aerosoles via DSW

I just realized that Christmas is only 6 months away. Maybe thats why I wanted to wear my green pants today. Today's look was thrown together and based around this necklace that I had to buy but don't wear a lot. I felt waaaay too casual in just a t-shirt and khakis, so I threw the vest on to change the look a bit. This outfit is making me feel a bit hippie...oh well.

06*24*09 Pretty in Pink

Top: Gap outlet
Skirt: Kohls
Flats: Report via Macy's
Necklace: Casual Corner

I'm really liking the way I look in skirts. Taking pictures has really helped me change the way I see myself & what I wear. For instance, I used to think I looked too dressed up & fussy in skirts, but now I think they look better on me than my usual pants. I'm also realizing that most of my pants do not fit properly. I look completely different in pictures than I see myself in the mirror.

06*23*09 It's hot outside

Orange tank: Old Navy
Yellow Cardi: Old Navy
Khakis: Dockers via JcPenney
Flats: CL via dsw.com
Necklace: Macy's

I didn't realize until today how baggy these khakis are. Oh well, I was comfy today and my office is pretty casual. I might be putting these khakis into the "early pregnancy stash" for future use. They feel kind of sloppy right now. This necklace was my bargain of the week. It was originally $140 at Macy's and thanks to an awesome sale I paid only.......$2.99!

06*19*09 Flowery Friday

Top: Apt 9 via Kohls
Skirt: K-mart
Sandals: Lord & Taylor via ebay
Necklace: vintage - great-grandma's

Love this skirt! I can't believe it came from K-mart. I just had to buy it after seeing Kimberly wear it. And it was a steal at only $12.50! Today I kept it simple with a black top to really make the skirt stand out. Next time I wear it, I will try to mix it up a bit. I bought these shoes for my bridal shower 4 years ago and don't wear them much. They have a skinny heel and I am not that coordinated, but I decided to give them a shot today. I have a back-up pair of wedges in my car just in case :) Have a wonderful weekend!

06*18*2009 Plain in Pink

Top: Worthington via JcPenney
Pants: Axcess via Kohls
Peep Toe Wedges: Aerosoles via DSW
Necklace: etsy

This is a shirt that I don't wear very often because it usually needs ironed. Last night I sprayed some wrinkle releaser on it and let it dry overnight and NO WRINKLES! I love that stuff :) The shirt feels a little baggy, but I was rushed this morning so I didn't try to belt it. I will probably wear a cardigan most of the day in my cold office, so that will give it some shape.

My belts are in a giant heap on our bedroom floor after the closet shelf came crashing down on me last week (yes, I think thats a sign that I have too much stuff!) I need a better way to organize my belts....any suggestions?? I was using one of those ring hangers, but it was so hard to get to a belt in the middle....and that was usually the one I wanted to wear :)

06*17*09 Wednesday = Dress Day

Dress: Kohls
Cardi: Worthington via JcPenney
Brown Wedges: Aerosoles via DSW
Belt: old

I'm wearing a dress! And I like it! Oh my! I bought this dress for our trip to Cancun in 2007 and haven't worn it since then. I decided it was time - its supposed to be 95 degrees today. I felt too girly in it at first, so I added the yellow belt for a little contrast and pizazz. I'm sure I will get asked at least once today why I'm dressed up, my response - because it's Wednesday, do I need another reason!?! :)

06*16*09 Rainy Day Blues

Light Green Tank: New York & Company
Cardi: Bergners ($2.99)
Pants: Kohls
Scarf worn as belt: church sale
Shoes: Poetic Licence via dsw.com
Necklace: gift

It's another rainy day. Ick. I based this outfit around the colors in my scarf. I have so many scarves that I never wear, so I'm challenging myself to put them to good use. And check out the shoes....I love these shoes!

06*15*09 Eh...

Top: Axcess via Kohls
Cami: some store in Atlanta
Pants: Kohls
Necklace: gift

This is one of those tops that I bought when I was pregnant because I was convinced I could wear it after the baby, too, and it would still look cute. Unfortunately, I don't think I like this shirt on my non-pregnant self. Maybe its the pants I'm not crazy about and they are ruining the shirt for me. Or maybe its the fact that I associate this shirt with being 20-30 lbs heavier and that makes me feel like a blob. Who knows, but something isn't right. Guess I will try different combos of this before I decide to put it aside.

I always knew that I preferred pants to skirts, but after only a week of blogging, I'm already getting bored with pants. I have several super cute skirts and dresses in my closet, so I'll try to pull some out in the next few weeks.

06*11*2009

Top: Worthington via JcPenney

Pants: Mix It via JcPenney

Belt: old, probably Kohls

Wedges: Aerosoles via DSW

Necklace: made by me

I don't wear a lot of button down shirts (because I HATE to iron), but I'm trying to change that. Luckily, this shirt is wrinkle free, which I love. Normally I would wear a black belt with an outfit like this, but I found this white one in my closet that I've only worn a few times. The shirt looks better in person and I always seem to get compliments when I wear it. Today I was told the color looked good on me....and that it was too hot to be wearing long sleeves.

06*10*2009 My "new" scarf

Top: Gap
Scarf: Church Sale
Pants: Dockers via JcPenney
Shoes: Kohl's
Cardi: Old Navy

When I first learned about the new trend of wearing scarves in the summer, I was skeptical. But this scarf is perfect for that. It's lightweight and really freshens up a plain old outfit. AND I only paid 50 cents for it :)

06*09*2009 Sunshine on a cloudy day...

The weather is icky today, so I decided to wear bright yellow to brighten my mood. It always amazes me how much color can affect my mood. The top, cardi, and shoes are all recent purchases.

My closet is full....

....and I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!

How many times have you said that? I say it nearly every morning.

I'm starting this blog as a personal challenge to stop wearing the same old things every day. I have a closet full of tops, bottoms, skirts, belts, scarves, handbags, shoes, jewelry, etc, etc - but many items remain untouched.

Welcome to my journey through my closet!
